Location

Be transported back in time as you cross the threshold of one of Sarlat's most iconic buildings and enter the medieval courtyard of this beautiful 15th century building. Here you'll find romantic balconies and carved gargoyles above the medieval doorway of the spiral staircase that leads you up to La Liberté Studio on the first floor.

The studio itself has an uninterrupted view over Place de la Liberté, the main square of Sarlat, giving you a bird's eye view of the street entertainers throughout the summer months and the famous farmers' market on Place de la Liberté every Wednesday and Saturday throughout the year. Restaurants, shops, cafés and Sarlat's major tourist attractions are just a stroll away.

Sarlat holds a variety of cultural events throughout the year, many of which are held on or around Place de la Liberté so we are delighted to be able to offer accommodation in this central location. You can have a look at our Events page if you want to find out more about Sarlat's annual programme of events.

Jimmy's Bar is conveniently located on the ground floor for snacks, cocktails, coffee and even an ice cream parlour! It's a great spot for people watching or a nightcap after dining at one of Sarlat's many gastronomic restaurants. The square is lively during the summer months when you can watch Sarlat's famous street entertainers performing on the square which is pedestrianised.

Parking is only a 2-3 mins walk away. Our Parking section under Getting Here will give you further information and directions.

You can find out more about the studio itself on our Accommodation and Photos pages.

Please note that the medieval spiral staircase has 25 steps leading up to the apartment which is on the 1st floor (the floor above ground level) so it may not be suitable for those with mobility difficulties.
